Carly and Matt had an absolutely gorgeous day for their Mornington peninsula wedding Photography at All Smiles in Sorrento. Kat Sillars who in my book is one of the best celebrants on the Mornington Peninsula did as always one top job.

The day began at Carly’s house and as soon as I got there the action began. Like many of my weddings across the 18 years of creating pics as a Mornington Peninsula wedding photographer I could feel the apprehension and wedding excitement in the air. Carly had her 3 daughters who were the cutest flower girls and they were absolutely loving the fun of being all dressed up. It is so gorgeous to watch as a Mornington Peninsula wedding Photographer just how much flower girls are fascinated by a wedding.  Page boys are quite the opposite in fact some deliberately run a muck and find it hard being in a stuffy suit.

The light at Carlys home was brilliant. In fact we had a gorgeous sunny day. Now most brides wish for a sunny day. Well as a photographer sunshine makes things tough. You get lots of squinting and harsh shadows. In reality my choice is for overcast sky so the light is softer and less harsh.

Unlike most weddings we decided to organise our location shoot prior the ceremony. Sometimes this works best so the bride and groom can enjoy time with guests rather than being carted off to different spots.

As a kid way back in 1984 I spent numerous summers holidaying at our family holiday house in Portsea so from a young age I grew up with a fondness for the area. In fact my photography career began to grow its roots along Portsea Back beach where I experimented with the landscape photography. For me I love to bring my love of Fine art landscapes into my wedding photography. I love to produce images which are timeless, earthy and very natural. I’m less inclined to follow the masses of photographers and prefer to keep my own unique style and that I find is what my clients love. Anyway I am beginning to waffle so lets get back to the wedding at hand.

For the location shoot I headed down to one of my Favourite secluded beaches and that’s the benefit of growing up in the area. I know the best spots.

After the location shoot was done the nerves began to mount as we headed back to all Smiles. Kat the celebrant delivered her calming shots (drinks) and calming words. The flower girls remained a focal point of interest throughout the ceremony. I could really sense the love between Carly and Matt and it was so gorgeous to hear their sentimental vowels about how they met. A teary eye even made things more moving for everyone. With the weather fine we even managed to organise all the family and group shots with the gorgeous backdrop of the ocean.

After the ceremony All Smiles turned on a spectacular evening as the cocktail function began to unfold. Spending some time during the reception I love to grab those candid Mornington Peninsula Wedding pics of giggles, fun and action as the evening begins to unfold. I wish you both a happy life together and am grateful for sharing the beginning of your journey.
