Australian Professional Photographer of the Year Awards 2013
Just over a week ago the Judging for the Australian Professional Photographer of the year awards was held in Melbourne. It’s a tense period where judging begins Friday and concludes on the Sunday. It brings together Australia’s finest photography talent as well as overseas entrants. Judging is tough and tension is high as your image is critiqued by a panel of 5 photography experts. For the last 2 years I’ve been a judge for the Victorian awards and it is no easy task. I highly recommend entering awards as it is a true reflection of how good you are at what you do. Awards force you out of your comfort zone, and more importantly help deliver a higher standard of work to your clients.
As with every year since 2004 ( yes I have no awards for my 1st years entries ) I submitted my 4 prints which I have attached. A silver award is worth a score of 80.
The results:
81- The wedding pic scoredI love this image as it is so natural. Nothing posed apart from me asking the groom to sit in the middle.
80 Silver award – The long thin landscape pic depicting the rocky coast protruding out into the ocean
79 The Jetty steps – so close
78 The long thin landscape shot with the rocks surrounded by water on either side.
so there you have it another year of awards.
