Better Digital Camera

Better Digital Camera magazine frequently runs photography competitions. We decided to take a punt and enter an image into The Readers Better Digital Camera magazine competition.

We had a feeling that we might get a slight chance of getting something published.  Little did we know that James Harvie Photography’s image would become the Better Digital Camera magazine winning entry.

A bit about the shot: “ I took this shot out at Ellery Creek one of the waterholes not far from Alice Springs. After all had gone to bed I was still up with my travelling companion Billy. I suggested we take a look down at the water hole. When I got there I was blown away. It was so silent and still. We set up the tripod and I set to work with bracketing my exposures. The Nikon D700 with cable release put to task. I just guessed my exposures hoping I would nail it. The result was simply stunning. A shot that would look fine on any boardroom or household wall.
